Mountain West Diversity Conference

Date: Saturday, October 14
Time: 7:30 am- 7:30 pm
Location: Eagle Valley High School

Eagle Valley High School will be hosting the first annual Mountain West Diversity Conference on Saturday October 14. While most people associate the word ‘diversity’ with ethnicity or race, the conference deals a wide range of topics including cliques, religion, gender, sexual orientation, physical and mental challenges, multicultural art and music, socioeconomic concerns, and teenage social problems. Participants will hear from keynote speaker Carlotta LaNier, who is one of the Little Rock Nine, participate in discussion groups, attend two workshops of their choice and plan with their schools on how to make their schools and communities a better place for everyone.

We will have 4 volunteer shifts:
Shift 1 - 7:30 - 10:30 - 15 people
Shift 2 - 10:30- 1:30 - 10 people (this is the lunch shift, so folks will be doing some lifting)
Shift 3 - 1:30 - 4:30 - 5-10 people
Shift 4 - 4:30 - 7:30 - 15 people

Please let us know if you and your student organization would like to help out, how many folks you'll be bringing, and which shift you'd prefer. We'll follow up with you to confirm and register online. To register your group
