Session 1 Details:
Sharing the experience of fundraising: 5 steps in building a culture of philanthropy
Presenter: Matt Wasserman
Development operations can often be out of synch with the rest of the organization, making raising dollars even more challenging. When the organization accepts, understands, and embraces the work of the development department the ability to engage more donors in better ways increases substantially, and the whole institution benefits from the increased donor investment.

This training focuses on breaking down barriers to bring the rest of the organization into the fundraising fold, help them understand, and build collaboration. It will cover 5 steps to building a culture of philanthropy:
• Demonstrate the impact and wonder of philanthropy
• Discuss the giving experience
• Explain the process of donor engagement and investment
• Address the different ways non-development staff can be involved in the fundraising process
• Opening up about the fundraising process
