This event allowed ERYC to expand its youth outreach. In 2017, ERYC held 26 parenting classes with 561 participants, disseminated 4,500 Resource Directories, engaged 33 Youth Leader Council participants, worked with 659 youth and 273 hours in in-school prevention programs, held 19 community events and trainings, surveyed 3,001 middle and high school youth, which helps 35 coalition members receive $2 million annually in funding.

Parent Education Opportuntities

A free series, Eat Chat Parent, presented by Vail Health, encourages open conversation between parents, older siblings, and experts on topics relevant to parenting. Parents and teens are invited to attend these panel discussions with local professional speakers to share and learn new skills for more effective parenting and learn about available resources. We also offer Parenting Classes that follow the Active Parenting curriculum. These classes are offered several times a year at different locations throughout the valley.

The fall Families in Action

classes start September 11. The six-week class that combines Parents and Teens, and is evidenced based to have the best results possible. A curriculum from the Active Parenting Publishers and Michael Popkin, this class encourages parents and teens to learn together. Registration is required!

The Families in Action is for children ages 11 through 16 and their parents. FIA brings parents and teens together...at last!
Parents and teens are often at odds—but it doesn't have to be that way. When parents and teens learn together, they will have a common language and skills for a smoother ride through adolescence.
